Neville grabbing his Cruiserweight Title belt after nearly losing the title to Itami

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville def. Hideo Itami[]

Results[]

In his first PPV match back as Cruiserweight Champion, Neville pulled out all the stops to survive with his title but Hideo Itami was not going down without a fight.

Both men came out the gate looking to keep it technical before switching to high flying offense, at different points in the match, Neville was on the verge of losing his grip on the title but immediately regained the advantage with his quickness. It finally came down to a GTS by Itami that almost signaled the end of this match but Moustache Mountain ran down to ringside to distract Itami but suffered GTS' for their troubles. This distraction proved dividends when Neville took advantage with a quick roll-up to pick up the win and retain the Cruiserweight Title.

Preview[]

With the WWE Contract and future of the champion still under negotiations, new WWE 205 Live General Manager, Daniel Bryan was quick to not wait on the negotiations to be finalized when he announced a Fatal-4-Way Elimination Match to crown the No.1 Contender to the Cruiserweight Title between Hideo Itami, Jack Gallagher, Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali. All four competitors left it out in the ring and when it came down to Itami and Alexander, the "Innovator of the GTS" put away the "Dr. of Back-breakers" to punch his ticket to Puerto Rico.

Now all that is left is the question of if the champion will be present to defend his title. That question was answered 2 weeks before King of the Ring as news broke that Neville had officially resigned with WWE and now the match is set between two formidable competitors and only one will leave San Juan with the top prize on 205 Live.
